Question 1

How many airports does British Indian Ocean Territory have?

Accepted Answer

1 airport in British Indian Ocean Territory carry an IATA location identifier in AirScanner's reference. That counts airports with a code, which is what an air waybill needs — it is not the total number of airfields, most of which never see commercial cargo.

Question 2

Which airports in British Indian Ocean Territory handle air cargo?

Accepted Answer

No airport in British Indian Ocean Territory is a cargo hub in AirScanner's routing model. That is a statement about our 46-carrier registry and not about the country — cargo moves through airports that host no carrier's hub, usually connecting through a hub elsewhere in the region.
